The WKU Office of Creative Web Services announced Friday that a new mobile version of the WKU.edu website will go live on Monday (Feb. 11).
In 2012 the WKU.edu website had more than 1.2 million visits originating from mobile devices. The new site will provide mobile visitors with a more user-friendly way to navigate the WKU website.
“This is Phase 1 in our ongoing commitment to providing a positive experience to our mobile website visitors,” said Corie Martin, manager of WKU Creative Web Services.
Beginning Monday, visitors viewing the WKU.edu website on a mobile device will automatically default to a new homepage that will reduce the need for full-site zooming and help users more easily access information.
WKU website users should expect to see additional enhancements to the mobile site, as well as the iWKU Mobile App, which will remain in use, in the coming months.
